Physical and Occupational Therapy Services
Most people want to remain in their homes after an illness or condition that required medical attention. This is our focus too. Home health care therapies (physical and occupational therapists) work towards returning an individual back to their prior or maximum level of independence in a home setting.
Home care therapies accomplish this by addressing what items or assistance are needed to help keep a person safe in a home setting. This might include the need for a walker, bath bench or additional help in bathing. Our therapists work to restore the mobility and strength of patients who are limited or disabled by physical injuries through treatment, healing and prevention. This includes focusing on relieving pain, promoting healing, and restoring function and movement.
Services of our therapy services include, among other things:

Assessing and monitoring the patient’s functional abilities. |

Developing a plan of care to improve walking, strength, range of motion, coordination, or endurance. |

Teaching exercises focusing on ergonomics and body mechanic training, fitness and wellness through exercise and education to improve functional abilities. |

Performing specific treatments to relieve pain, promote healing, and to restore function and movement. |
• |
Educating patients on special techniques for walking and transferring, posture stabilization, building strength in weakened areas. |
• |
Monitoring, assessing and addressing hazards in the home to prevent additional injuries from falls. |
• |
Alleviating pain and restoring injured muscles with specialized equipment. |
• |
Developing a plan of care to address problems related to limited use of shoulders, arms, and hands. |
• |
Educating patients about ways to increase function of the upper body, including a patient’s shoulders, arms and hands. |
